About Us
This inspirational and informative journal covers many topics relevant to today's African American pastor. Ecumenical in outlook and theologically diverse in style, each issue features sermons, narratives, essays, interviews, stories, and articles by gifted African American pastors that reflect on the many aspects of preaching methodology and sermon construction. Whether you are a new or seasoned minister and whether you pastor a large or small church, The African American Pulpit (TAAP ) speaks to issues facing you.

Sermons.
Each issue is filled with sermons that expound and magnify the Word of God. These sermons offer you the opportunity to dialogue with the power of the written word. Featured sermons have included dynamic messages from Gardner C. Taylor, Cynthia Belt, Suzan D. Johnson Cook, Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., Ella Pearson Mitchell, Henry H. Mitchell, Charles E. Booth, and many, many others!

Sermon Helps.
This section provides up-to-date information on vital issues needed to craft and develop effective and powerful sermons that speak to those in the pews and beyond. Many aspects of preaching methodology and sermon construction are given on a variety of topics.

Articles.
Each journal includes an uplifting and inspiring article relevant to preaching and the black church. These articles deal with topics such as ministerial issues, preaching, sermon design, and other areas of interest.

Interviews.
Timeless interviews with some of the nation's most respected ministers are a favorite feature of TAAP. These in-depth interviews offer glimpses into the style, motivation, and philosophies of ministers today. Interviews have included conversations with Claudette A. Copeland, Cain Hope Felder, Robert Michael Franklin, H. Beecher Hicks, William Augustus Jones, Bernice Johnson Reagon, J. Alfred Smith Sr., and Gardner C. Taylor.

Practical How-to Advice.
Each journal includes informative advice on a subject area important to the black church. One recent issue included "Church and Religious Institutional Mortgages," which in easy-to-understand language explained the details and processes churches should know when considering obtaining a church mortgage loan.

Clergy Vignettes.
We are now publishing brief blurbs announcing religious news of note: church anniversaries for churches that are 100 years or older, announcements concerning doctoral degrees (D. Min, Th.D., and Ph.D.) received from institutions accredited by the Association of Theological Schools, announcements concerning faculty and administrative appointments by seminaries, announcements of female clergy who are celebrating 25 or more years in ministry and male clergy who are celebrating 50 or more years in ministry, announcements concerning the completion of church-owned facilities that also serve the wider community, and announcements concerning special academic achievement by persons serving as faculty for religious institutions. See the Submit link for information about submitting material for the Clergy Vignettes section.

Book Reviews.
These reviews, which sometimes feature book excerpts, provide helpful information on the best reading on ministerial life and issues, effective pastoring, and church administration today.

Moses probably would not have heard God had he not been on the backside of the desert. God calls us at times way over in life to tell us that our dreams are to come true.
