I am looking for sermons preached by African American women preachers who are noted womanist theologians. Would you be able to identify issues since 1998 that would have such sermons. Any assistance you can provide will be appreciated.
Thank you!

I recently had the fortune and delightful opportunity to hear Rev. Dr. Martha Simmons preach. I will never, never be the same. Since hearig her, my husband and I discuss OUR BIG PLAN and OUR BIG DREAMS. Rev. Dr. Simmons reminded us that we have a BIG God, so we should not have small dreams and small plans. At the prompting of our Pastor Elect, The Rev. Dr. Ambrose Carroll, my local church was fortunate to have Rev. Dr. Simmons as our keynote speaker at our 56th Annual Women's Day Celbration on this past Sunday, 03/09/08- at the New Hope Baptist Church, Denver, CO. We had a spirit filled, power packed, soul stirring, life changing time in the Lord. I could have heard her preach for 3-4, or until she collapse in fatigue, or until the lights were turned off and the all the carpets roll up. I have kept her in my daily prayers since. Several of our members have ceased talking about her and about the morning worship service. I have saying use whenever I hear an awesome sermon that goes "I'm going to go, get me a big biscuit and sop on that gravy the rest of the week." Everytime I say that to friends and fellow congregants; they get a kick out of.

I recall hearing information and reading informaion about TAAP. After hearing Rev. Dr. Simmons, I just ordered to back issues. Fall 2007 and Winter/Spring 2008. Over the coming weeks, I will continue to work backwards and order as many back issues as I find available. My husband is the Minister of Children at New Hope. I am sure he'll love each issue. However, I will read through them page by page before handing them over to him. I am looking forward to discussing each article and feature with him a few days a week before we fall alseep in each other's arms, or over breakfast before embracing our day. Our oldest daughter oldest daughter is a 3rd year student at the U of Northern Colorado- 60 miles north of Denver. I ordered two copies of our Women's Day sermon- one to send to my daughter and one to my mother in Houston, TX. What a mighty woman of God is Rev. Dr. Simmoms. Lastly, I would like to inquire as to how I may obtain copies of her sermons.

The Affrican American Lectionary TAAP is one of the most invaluable tools for the African American Preacher. Not only is it a useful tool of preparation for the preaching of God's word, but it is an excellent educational tool to inform congregations in a systematic way about the various moments on the Christian Calendar. This lectionary is sure to be a blessing to the body of Christ.

I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED YOUR VIEWING ROOM SERMONS. I LOOK FORWARD TO MORE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT TYPE OF CONTRIBUTIONS YOU NEED SPECIFICALLY FOR THE LECTIONARY. I WOULD LIKE TO CONTRIBUTE A MEDITATION ON CERTAIN READINGS, IF THAT IS POSSIBLE. THANKS SO MUCH FOR BEING THERE, AND HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

I am interested in working on your lectionary project. I have had a vision for just such a project celebrating major days in African-American history as well as days celebrated in the African-American church such as Emancipation Day, Juneteeth, Women's and Men's Day and Usher's Day. I am excited that someone is initiating the work. I would love to join the effort.

We have the Good News! Now we must give witness to the Good News by finishing the story. How shall we respond? Will we finish the agenda and take the Good News to the ends of the earth, or will we act like the resurrection never happened?
